Top 3 International Stories I’m Watching Today

1.) North Korea warns it is ready to conduct a nuclear test and long-range rocket tests (aimed at the US). This comes after UN sanctions supported by the Security Council, including China were announced against North Korea. North Korea sees the US as the instigator of these sanctions and announces the tests in retaliation.

2.) Britain’s Foreign Office has urged UK nationals to immediately leave Benghazi due to threats against Westerners. UK has warned against travel to the city since September, but today they urged citizens to leave immediately.

3.) The rebels in Mali are feeling the pressure from French and international military campaigns. Some of the groups have signaled that they are interested in negotiation to stop the intervention, and possibly might be willing to fight against the other wing of the extremist group.
