1.) Taliban attacks US Consulate in Afghanistan, day after 9/11. One security guard was killed by a car bomb but they failed to enter the facility.
2.) Turkish police resort to tear gas after 3rd day of renewed protests.
3.) The World Economic Forum and the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) are both meeting in China today. WEF focused on women’s rights (lol, China) and SCO talked about border security for Afghanistan after US withdrawal—with everyone but the US.
Also: Russia and the US are still going at it over Syria. I’m mentioning it because it is a top story I’m watching, but not one I think I need to explain. I decided it was more important to shift the spotlight to stories overshadowed by Syria.
